American Suzuki Motor Corp. and American Suzuki Automotive Credit will offer zero percent financing on the entire 2001 automotive product line for up to 60 months.
That bests other car companies' – notably Ford’s and GM’s -- zero percent APR finance programs offered to spur vehicle sales which dropped after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
American Suzuki was already offering zero percent financing on several 2001 models but it expands that until Oct. 31, 2001, by extending the term to 60 months and extending the offer across its seven-model line of cars and SUVs.
A Suzuki buyer can save more than $6,300 on the purchase of a top-of-the-line XL-7 Limited Edition, a seven-occupant SUV. A Grand Vitara SUV buyer can now knock $5,600 off financing costs.
Also included in the offer is the Swift, Esteem sedan and wagon cars, and the Suzuki Vitara Two- and Four-Door SUVs.
New television and newspaper advertisements will tout the enhanced deal to customers beginning Sunday. The ads will offer buyers a choice of a $249 monthly lease on the new-for-2001 XL-7 or the zero percent/60-month purchase program.
