Need to sell some real estate to generate quick cash? Here's a novel idea -- try a real estate auction. According to Paul Thomas, a professionally conducted real estate auction is different from a fire-sale foreclosure auction and is carefully designed to protect the seller while obtaining true market value.

Ward's ran a column by Thomas in the December issue (you can read it here) which provides some tips and advantages of using a real estate auction.

In full disclosure, Thomas is a principal in NW Auctions, which happens to be a real estate auction company. So, we realize he's trying to create some sales for his firm, but our goal at Ward's is to help dealers manage their businesses. And we think this is a novel idea that has merit, especially in a time when many dealers are starving for cash.

If you're looking to sell some real estate and raise cash, a phone call or email to Thomas might be wise. He can be reached at [email protected] or (888)222-1882.
