Quality is the most important factor for service managers and technicians when it comes to purchasing shop equipment, according to a new market research report published by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association. Quality remains at the top for both past and planned purchases. Service, warranty, price and availability are rated as less significant considerations when selecting equipment. AAIA

Quality is the most important factor for service managers and technicians when it comes to purchasing shop equipment, according to a new market research report published by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association.

Quality remains at the top for both past and planned purchases. Service, warranty, price and availability are rated as less significant considerations when selecting equipment.

AAIA President and CEO Kathleen Schmatz says it's encouraging to see professionals “rate quality over service, price and availability when deciding on what equipment to purchase.”

The survey is part of an annual series of surveys that is devoted to collecting data on equipment purchasing trends in even years and tool purchasing trends in odd years.
