The U.S. Bureau of Economic Affairs is schedule to release annual seasonal factors on August 1, 2014, the same day that most automakers release their July light vehicle sales results in the U.S.

The new factors will affect the stated SAAR (seasonally adjusted annual rate) for historical periods, and will impact the relative weight of July deliveries in determining the monthly SAAR tomorrow.

A prior WardsAuto forecast called for 1.43 million U.S. LV deliveries in July, equating to a 17 million-unit SAAR using the current SAAR factors. We will restate the forecast SAAR calculated with the new BEA factors as soon as they're available in a subsequet Counting Cars post, on the morning of August 1.
