Canada light-vehicle sales eked out a 0.3% gain year-over-year in November to 120,727, marking the second consecutive month of growth, according to WardsAuto data.

European auto makers led the way on a percentage basis, with deliveries up 7.7% to 12,805 units. Volume-leader Volkswagen stumbled with a 1.9% decline to 4,015, but that was offset by better performances at Audi, up 25.0%, and BMW, up 14.0%.

Fiat 500 tallied 339 deliveries in Canada in November.

Asian auto makers were close behind with a 6.2% increase to 56,170. Toyota stood out from the pack with a 15.1% sales surge to 14,563 vehicles, driven largely by a 113.9% spike in Camry demand and 28.1% run-up in RAV4 deliveries.

On Toyota’s heels were Kia, with a 16.0% gain, and Honda, up 11.9%.

U.S.-based auto makers posted a poor showing, combining for a 6.9% dip to 51,752 deliveries.

Only Chrysler recorded a gain, with sales creeping up a modest 2.0% on the strength of a 105.3% jump in car sales. The Fiat 500 enjoyed a solid month with 339 deliveries, while the Chrysler 200 sedan led on a volume basis with 685 units.

Ford sales tumbled 6.2% to 17,678, with car deliveries down 17.3% and light-truck demand dipping 2.5%.

Much like in the U.S., Canadian consumers snapped up the Ford Ranger pickup, set to be discontinued this month. Ranger sales in November rose 11.7% to 1,264, placing it behind only the Escape cross/utility vehicle and F-Series pickup in Ford’s truck lineup.

Volume-leader General Motors delivered 17,951 LVs, down 14.2%. Light-truck sales fell 6.7%, while cars were off 31.0%.

There were few bright spots in GM’s November results. However, solid performances were turned in by the Chevrolet Cruze C-car, with sales climbing 65.8%, and the GMC Sierra pickup, up 9.3%.

Chevy Volt sales totaled only 28 units for the month, down sharply from 72 in October.

Overall, industry car sales fell 2.6% to 50,493, while light-truck deliveries gained 2.5% to 70,234 in November.

Through the first 11 months, Canadian LV sales totaled 1,467,606, 1.7% ahead of year-ago.
