The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated Internet buying throughout the retail sector – including for cars and trucks. On average, automobile dealers believe digital will account for more than half their sales in three years.
As consumers become more accustomed to Internet shopping, they’ll demand additional time-saving conveniences. More than a third of automobile dealers say they likely will need to offer at-home test drives, sales consultations, final delivery and concierge maintenance and repair services. Customers may find Internet buying simpler and faster, but dealers expect the shift to digital will offer plenty of benefits for their operations too.
