Italy Vehicle Sales Down 17.4% in September

Italy vehicle sales totaled 171,868 units for September 2010, down 17.4% vs. September 2009.

September 2010 vehicle sales increased 120.4% vs. August 2010 sales. Because August is the holiday month in Italy, sales are often significantly lower leading to a seemingly huge jump in September sales.

2010 sales through September totaled 1,697,120, down 3.5% over the same period in 2009.

Fiat Automobile SpA is the leader in year-to-date sales with a total of 550,967, resulting in a 32.5% market share.
