Italy Vehicle Sales Down 7.3% in September

Italy vehicle sales totaled 160,429 units for September 2011, down 7.3% vs. September 2010.

September 2011 vehicle sales increased 102.3% vs. August 2011 sales. Returning to work after the European holiday likely contributed to this huge increase.

2011 sales through September totaled 1,522,071, down 10.4% over the same period in 2010.

Fiat Automobile SpA was the leader in year-to-date sales with a total of 457,922, resulting in a 30.1% market share.
