Japan vehicle sales totaled 359,631 units for April, up 93.7% vs. April 2011. Sales last year were dramatically low due to the earthquake and tsunami.
April 2012 sales decreased 52.2% compared with March 2012.
2012 sales through April totaled 2,047,069, up 53.9% over like-2011.
Toyota was the leader in year-to-date vehicle sales, with total of 634,666, resulting in a 31.0% market share.
