June had 25 selling days this year compared with 26 days in 2016, meaning DSR % change will be higher than straight volume % change for year-over-year comparisons this month.

SUMMARY:
The U.S. auto industry delivered 1.41 million light vehicles in July 2017. The resulting daily sales rate, over 25 days, was 3.4% below same-month 2016 (26 days).
Year to date, sales reached 9.81 million units, down 3.0% from like-2016.
General Motors accounted for 16.0% of the market, a downturn from the 17.6% recorded year-ago. Toyota showed a gain in market share, from 14.1% in July 2016 to 15.8% currently.
Ford's share stayed flat with prior-year at 13.9%. FCA covered 11.4%, followed by Honda with a 10.7% take.

VW brand deliveries totaled 27,091 vehicles, down 2.0%
Kia, with 56,403 sales, slipped 2.2%

Honda came in 2.8% above last year, with 150,980 units.
Mazda outsold prior-year by 0.9% on 27,089 cars and light trucks.
Audi posted a 6.6% gain to 18,824 sales.

GM delivered 226,107 LVs in July, down 12% from like-2016.
Nissan's sales upticked 0.7% on 128,295 units.
