JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – New-vehicle sales jumped 12.7% in April to 45,635 units.
The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa says that is impressive growth considering the numerous public holidays during the month. Demand for new cars and commercial vehicles remains fundamentally strong, NAAMSA says.
The auto makers’ group credits a favorable economic environment, strong business and consumer confidence, growing real disposable income and low interest rates for enhancing new-vehicle affordability.
