U.K. Vehicle Sales Down 4.9% in February

U.K. vehicle sales totaled 73,055 units for February 2012, down 4.9% vs. February 2011.

February vehicle sales decreased 50.4% vs. January 2012 sales. February sales are typically low because people wait to purchase in March, when the new license plate cycle begins.

2012 sales through February totaled 220,353. This was down 2.3% over the same period in 2011.

Ford was the leader in year-to-date sales with a total of 35,196, resulting in a 16.0% market share.
