Ford Motor Co. names Peter Fleet president of the auto maker’s Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) division.
Fleet, 42, replaces Dave Alden, who will retire May 1 after 32 years with the company. In his new role, Fleet will be responsible for managing and growing operations across Ford’s ASEAN markets, including Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam.
He will be based at Ford’s ASEAN headquarters in Bangkok and report directly to Joe Hinrichs, Ford group vice president and president-Asia Pacific and Africa.
Fleet currently is regional director for Ford of Europe’s sales operations, a role he has served in since September 2007. He takes on his new role April 1.
“Peter’s proven leadership will be critical to driving the successful and ongoing expansion of our ASEAN operations,” Hinrichs says in a statement. “Additionally, his wealth of experience in marketing and sales will be invaluable in helping deliver a high-impact, upcoming ASEAN launch of the Ford Fiesta.”
