Ford today reveals a refreshed Fiesta B-car that will launch in Europe later this year, followed by a North American introduction in 2013.
The new Fiesta features a number of technologies, including Active City Stop, a system offered in Europe that automatically applies the brakes if an imminent collision is detected.
The Fiesta will be powered by a 1.0L 3-cyl. turbocharged EcoBoost engine that Ford says is expected to deliver best-in-class fuel economy.
Ford spokesman Mark Schirmer says the 1.0L mill will be offered in Europe, but not necessarily North America. The Fiesta’s North American powertrain will be revealed later this year.
The refreshed front fascia boasts a more prominent trapezoidal grille than the current model and is bracketed by laser-cut headlamps with light-emitting diode daytime running lights.
Ford says the redesigned Fiesta also has a “harmonious and ergonomically optimized” interior, but does not provide details.
