Ford Motor Co. has notified workers at its Louisville, KY, assembly plant that it plans to reduce capacity and cut jobs next year due to falling demand for the Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer SUVs.
The number of jobs affected has yet to be determined. Through October, Ford sold 155,246 Explorers, down 25.7% vs. year-ago, according to Ward's data.
