Avoiding a potentially embarrassing recall, Ford Motor Co. quietly fixes defects on ‘03 Ford Expedition SUVs before releasing them to dealers.
About 2,000 early production models reportedly had poor welds in the rear suspension area. Dana Corp., maker of the Expedition frame, worked with an independent contractor in a hangar of the Willow Run, MI, airport to re-weld faulty spots.
