The auto maker, despite being one of the weakest players in China's automotive game, plans further expansion, he says.
The country's reception of the Fiesta has motivated Ford to introduce a second and possibly even a third shift far ahead of schedule at its Chongqing plant.
Also, Ford prepares to introduce — ahead of schedule — a derivative of the Mondeo in China.
“China, by the end of the decade, is going to represent a very significant market. We are going to be there, and we are going to be significant there,” Scheele says.
