Honda will stage the global debut of the prototype of its 11th-generation Civic live on streaming platform Twitch on Nov. 17.

The all-new Civic, launching spring 2021 as a 2022-model-year vehicle, will undergo a full redesign that “raises the bar for style, performance, safety and advanced technology in the compact car market,” Honda says in a news release.

The Civic is the best-selling car in Wards Intelligence’s Upper Small segment with 200,941 deliveries through October. Honda claims the Civic is the most popular car in the U.S. among Generation Y and Generation Z and is the top choice among multicultural shoppers; models include sedans, coupes, hatchbacks and performance vehicles.

Honda says it has sold nearly 12 million Civics in the U.S. since 1973.

Honda says its Honda Head2 is the only automotive-branded gaming channel on Twitch. The automaker says it has a significant presence in gaming and esports, as the exclusive automotive partner of Team Liquid and the Riot Games League of Legends Championship Series.

The reveal also will feature a live performance by Grammy-nominated rapper Cordae.
