Honda U.K. Plant to Build Next-Gen Civic, CR-V
The auto maker says production at the plant will return to normal levels in early September after months of parts supply interruption following Japan’s earthquake in March.
Honda says its new Civic hatchback for Europe and next-generation CR-V cross/utility vehicle both will be built at its plant in Swindon, U.K.
Both the current Civic and CR-V are built at the Swindon operation.

The announcement comes as Honda says weekly production at the plant will return to normal levels in early September after months of parts supply interruption and reduced production following the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in March.
The auto maker says parts supply from Japan has improved significantly and the Swindon plant aims to recover volume quickly to meet customer demand.
Production of the new Civic small family car will start later in the year in preparation for the sales launch in early 2012.
The new CR-V will go on sale in Europe beginning in fall 2012.
Honda says plans for the Civic’s production are on schedule despite the parts supply interruption.
“The next six months will be busy, as we ramp up to full production following the training and trial builds of the new car,” Mark Trowbridge, in charge of quality for Honda in the U.K., says in a statement.
“The fact that we will be the only Honda plant in the world producing this hatchback version of the new Civic, makes us extremely proud.”
