Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. says its new ’07 Camry Hybrid model will start at $25,900, $7,630 more than a base Camry.
The Camry Hybrid features a 147-hp 2.4L 4-cyl. gasoline engine, mated to a 40-hp electric motor. Toyota says the car has a preliminary fuel economy rating of 40/38 mpg (5.9-6.2 L/100 km) city/highway and is expected to be certified as an Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emission Vehicle.
An “ECO” button that limits energy consumption by the heating, ventilating and air conditioning system can further improve fuel economy, Toyota says.
The Camry Hybrid comes standard with a tire-pressure monitoring system, halogen headlamps with automatic on/off controls, a premium sound system with Bluetooth technology, cruise control and 8-way power driver’s seat.
Also standard are 16-in. aluminum wheels, heated outside mirrors and dual-zone climate controls.
The new model is expected to reach U.S. dealers in May.
