Mass-market sport sedan meets high-powered exotic in the special-edition Hyundai Genesis Coupe show car set for unveiling at November’s Specialty Equipment Market Assn. exhibition in Las Vegas.
Hyundai teams with engine specialists Bisimoto Engineering to produce the 1,000-hp car, powered by a tweaked version of the Genesis’ stock 3.8L V-6 engine.
To crank out that much power from Hyundai’s Lambda engine and transfer it to the car’s rear wheels, Bisimoto adds steel connecting rods, twin Bisimoto/Turbonetics turbochargers, forged pistons, special cylinder sleeves and a Supertech valvetrain.
A Magnafuel 750 fuel pump, NGK Iridium spark plugs, Spearco intercooler and a Bisimoto-spec Action Ironman clutch also are employed.
Chassis changes include the addition of a Bisimoto roll cage, a coilover suspension with antiroll bars and unique driveshaft and axles. Special Toyo performance tires ride on exclusive 20-in. aluminum rims.
Inside, the show car features Buddy Club racing seats with harness and special gages.
Exterior highlights include a custom Electric Blue paint and black carbon-fiber hood and decklid, plus stainless-steel exhaust and Bisimoto badging along the rear hatch.
