Hyundai provides a good look at its new ʼ12 model i30, releasing the first photos of the 5-door hatchback that will bow next week at the Frankfurt auto show.
Like the previous-generation i30, the new car was designed and engineered at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre in Russelsheim, Germany.
“The new-generation i30 is recognizable thanks to the Hyundai family face with its signature hexagonal-shaped front grille and the jewel-like design of the headlamps, together with distinctive daytime running lights,” Hyundai Europe Chief Designer Thomas Buerkle says in a statement.
“These lights present an angular shape within a more softly-edged recess, adding a strong personality to the vehicle, as well as a sense of refinement and luxury.”
Produced for European markets at Hyundai’s Nosovice, Czech Republic, plant, the current-model i30 was a huge sales success following its launch in 2007.
In 2010, Hyundai Europe delivered 115,000 i30s, the highest 1-year sales for any Hyundai model in Europe.
