Dealers Rick and Rita Case opened what is billed as the world's largest Hyundai dealership. It is in Davie, FL, south of Fort Lauderdale.
The grand opening included the arrival of 22 trucks carrying more than 220 new vehicles as a crowd of nearly 200 dignitaries watched, including Hyundai Motor of America President and CEO Bob Cosmai.
Displayed at the event was the “Hope on Wheels” Hyundai Santa Fe, an SUV that is traveling the country to collect handprints from children battling cancer. Children at a local hospital added theirs as part of a $50,000 check presentation from the South Florida Hyundai dealers.
With more than 1,000 Hyundai vehicles in stock, the new 50,000-sq.-ft., 2-story Hyundai dealership is equipped with 38 service bays, express service, a car wash and a customer lounge with workstations, telephones and Internet access.
Its opening coincides with the opening of Hyundai's first U.S. manufacturing plant. Located in Montgomery, AL, it is expected to produce more than 300,000 vehicles a year.
The Rick Case Automotive Group has 13 dealerships in Florida, Georgia and Ohio.
