Auto Alliance Thailand to Reach Production Milestone by 2008
The plant has exported 167 billion baht worth of vehicles since its inception in 1996.
Ford Operations (Thailand) Co. Ltd. says its Auto Alliance (Thailand) Co. Ltd. manufacturing facility will reach a production milestone of 200,000 vehicles a year by 2008.
The plant, a joint venture with Mazda Motor Corp., produces the Ford Ranger 1-ton pickup, which is exported to more than 130 countries. Last year it produced a record 155,000 units and was named Thailand's largest vehicle exporter for completely built-up models in the year's first quarter.
The plant has exported 167 billion baht ($4.4 billion) worth of vehicles since its inception in 1996.
"We have succeeded in building a strong foundation for Ford Thailand in the last 10 years,” Ford Thailand President Tom Brewer tells the media at an event marking the 10th anniversary of the facility.
"Ford Thailand is heading on a mission to make every day exciting for everyone. This means new innovative products will be coming our way."
