Daimler AG says it will launch production of a fourth Mercedes C-Class model at its Bremen, Germany, plant in 2011.
Output of the C-Class coupe will be added to the line that already builds the C-Class sedan and wagon and GLK cross/utility.
Daimler announced in December Bremen would become the center for production of the next-generation C-Class for Europe in 2014, with plant capacity increasing about 20%. To facilitate that move, Daimler is shifting SL roadster output to Sindelfingen, Germany, which no longer will build the C-Class after 2014.
Daimler also announced at that time it would produce C-Class sedans for the U.S. at its Tuscaloosa, AL, plant in 2014.
