Ferrari, Pininfarina Crafting Six One-Off Supercars
The six bespoke copies are derived from the Pininfarina Sergio Concept built over the architecture of the Ferrari 458 Spider and displayed at the 2013 Geneva auto show.
TURIN – Sixty years on, the happy marriage between Ferrari and Pininfarina keeps delivering exquisite cars – if only in minuscule numbers.
The automaker’s press office confirms it is producing six bespoke copies of a supercar based on the Pininfarina Sergio Concept displayed at the 2013 Geneva auto show. The automaker reveals they are built over the architecture of the Ferrari 458 Spider and will be delivered and serviced by Ferrari and its dealers, but says all other information belongs to the individual owners.
Sources tell WardsAuto, however, that Pininfarina is not simply creating six Sergios but rather six individually crafted models with only the initial Sergio design in common.
Each will have its own exterior and interior design, color, trim and details built to the owner’s specifications and individually registered for use on public roads. The price is not revealed, but by way of comparison a street-legal Sergio is valued roughly at €1.5 million ($1.94 million).
The sources say the first of the one-offs will not be seen at next month’s Paris auto show, where Ferrari customarily stages a world premiere. All are expected to be ready for delivery by Christmas.
