Chrysler LLC names Bruce Coventry to lead Global Electric Motor Cars LLC, succeeding CEO Larry Oswald who is retiring.

Coventry had been vice president-Global Engine Mfg. Alliance and continues his role with the joint venture as non-executive chairman. GEMA is a partnership of Chrysler, Hyundai Motor Co. Ltd. and Mitsubishi Motors Corp.

Bruce Baumbach continues to manage GEMA’s day-to-day operations, Chrysler confirms.

Based in North Dakota, GEM produces low-speed neighborhood electric vehicles. Since its launch 10 years ago, it has put more than 38,000 NEVs on the road worldwide.
