Jaguar to Offer F-Pace CUV Next Year
New Jaguar CUV will be underpinned by the automaker’s aluminum-intensive architecture.
DETROIT – Jaguar at the Detroit auto show confirms it will produce the F-Pace CUV, a vehicle based on the well-received C-X17 concept.
“We received such an overwhelmingly positive response to the C-X17 concept car last year we just had to make it a reality,” Ian Callum, director of design, says in a statement.
Callum says the F-Pace’s styling was inspired by the automaker’s F-Type sports car, which he says strikes a balance of style, performance and practicality.
The 5-seat F-Pace will be underpinned by Jaguar’s aluminum-intensive architecture and ride on an advanced suspension system, the automaker says without revealing further details.
“The F-Pace has now begun its engineering and development testing program ahead of the new model going on sale in 2016,” Andy Goss, global sales director-Jaguar Land Rover, says in a statement.
Further details on the F-Pace, which will be assembled at the automaker’s Solihull, U.K, facility, will be announced closer to launch.
