Oshikiri Named Mitsubishi Australia CEO
Oshikiri has had two previous tours with Mitsubishi Australia, first in 1987-1992 and again in 2000-2003 when he was senior executive for sales and marketing.
Mitsubishi transfers Mutsuhiro Oshikiri from the Caribbean to become president and CEO of Mitsubishi Australia.
Oshikiri currently is president and CEO of Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Caribbean. He takes over April 1 in Australia from Genichiro Nishina, who is retiring after 32 years with the auto maker.
Since joining Mitsubishi in 1980, Oshikiri has spent his career managing markets outside Japan as well as company operations. Before assuming the Caribbean post, he was general manager of the North Asia B Department at Mitsubishi headquarters in Tokyo and chief operating officer of Mitsubishi Thailand.
Oshikiri has had two previous tours with Mitsubishi Australia, first in 1987-1992 and again in 2000-2003 when he was senior executive for sales and marketing.
Mitsubishi President Osamu Masuko says in a statement that Oshikiri’s extensive experience in overseas markets, in particular his previous experience in Australia, will help him continue growing the Mitsubishi brand there.
Oshikiri says his third tour Down Under comes at a time when Mitsubishi Australia is facing a major but exciting challenge in preparing for the introduction of a range of all-new products later this year.
