Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ Ram brand unveils the ’20 Ram 1500 Laramie Southwest Edition, a new luxury trim level that will be offered exclusively in Texas and neighboring states.

The Laramie Southwest Edition is targeted at what Ram calls the world’s largest truck-buying region.

“For nearly 20 years, Ram has recognized that Texas and America’s Southwest are the center of the truck universe,” says Mike Koval, FCA’s interim head of Ram Brand-North America. “Ram was the first manufacturer to offer a Texas-exclusive model, and the Lone Star edition remains our most popular truck in Texas.

“Our new Ram Laramie Southwest Edition adds the segment’s best combination of performance, capability, luxury and technology.”

The pickup features body-colored bumpers, mirrors and grille; chrome highlights including tow hooks, grille inserts, body-side moldings and polished 20-in. wheels; and power side steps that fold out of the way when the truck is parked or in motion.

Inside the Laramie Southwest Edition (below) are the Uconnect 4C infotainment system with 12-in. (18-cm) touchscreen, dual-pane panoramic sunroof and electronic trailer brake control. Also included are automatic high-beam headlights, blindspot monitoring and cross-traffic detection, front and rear parking assist and rain-sensitive windshield wipers.

The pickup is available in all powertrain options. Buyers can choose quad and crew-cab body configurations.

The Laramie Southwest Edition’s base price is $45,380 plus a $1,695 destination fee. The pickup goes on sale in the second quarter.Ram Laramie Southwest Edition 20 interior.jpg
