Delco Remy America Inc. and SatCon Technology Corp. are working together to develop the next generation of automobile generator. The first phase of this project calls for SatCon, a manufacturer of satellite components, to produce an alternator with 50% greater electrical capacity than current alternators by mid-1996. SatCon says it believes this type of alternator could eventually become the industry standard.
