PIH Bogdan and ZAO ZAZ will team up to build a $300 million vehicle assembly plant in Russia, a Bogdan official confirms.
Bogdan and ZAZ, Ukraine’s two largest car makers, have selected Nizhniy Novgorod in central Russia as the site for the plant, which is expected to launch in 2009.
Plans call for the production of 25,000 Lanos-Chevrolet cars, 6,000 buses and about 25,000 trucks during the plant’s first few years of operation.
