CHICAGO – The Chicago Auto Show touts itself as the biggest on the U.S. show circuit in terms of consumer visits. And while it is getting rarer for auto companies to make major new product announcements here, those that come hope to get as many consumer butts into the seats of battery-electric vehicles as possible.

Indeed, a huge portion of the McCormick Place Convention Center has been cleared for an EV test track, while all the automaker displays have been clustered in one hall.

In this week’s WardsAuto Podcast, Host and WardsAuto Senior Editor David Kiley talks to executives at Lucid Motors and Cadillac about their newest developments, and shares some observations about Volkswagen, Kia and other automakers who made product announcements in the Windy City.
