Single Source for Wheel Manufacturing Three companies, Okuma America Corp., Chiron America Inc. and FANUC Robotics North America Inc., have agreed to combine resources to develop a single-source solution for the aluminum wheel production industry. Okuma provides two Wheelmaster turning centers, Chiron provides a wheel drilling center, and the automation is provided by a FANUC robotic machine. The components will be integrated and marketed as a single system, with one source managing the sales, service and support aspects of the joint venture. Larry Schwartz, senior vice president of Okuma, says the agreement joins process solutions with a new level of technology to provide the customer with the best possible product coming from a single source.
