Former BMW Senior Vice President Roland Krüger is named president of Nissan’s Infiniti luxury brand.
The role was left open when Johan de Nysschen exited Infiniti in July to join General Motors’ Cadillac Div. as its president.
“Roland Krüger has a consistent record of high performance in the premium automotive sector,” Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn says in a statement. “He brings unique leadership skills that will accelerate Infiniti’s progress in the global premium market.”
Krüger’s stint at BMW spanned from 1998, when he was hired as manager-Strategic Product Planning, to 2013, when he became senior vice president of the German sales region. In the 15 years in between, he had roles overseeing various functions in Asia-Pacific, Africa and Eastern Europe. Before joining BMW, he worked for Daimler and Mitsubishi Motors Europe
Infiniti does not say when Krüger begins work, but does say he will be based at the brand’s global headquarters in Hong Kong.
