Infiniti says its upcoming Q30 Concept vehicle embodies its vision of a “head-turning design, innovative materials with precise fit and finish and passionate craftsmanship.”
It also is an advanced look at a sporty, 4-door coupe that is set to bolster the entry end of its vehicle lineup.
Slated for a public debut at the Frankfurt auto show Sept. 10, Infiniti releases a teaser sketch of the concept it says represents the latest evolution of the Infiniti design philosophy.
“The Infiniti Q30 Concept is a prelude to the product portfolio expansion which underpins our aggressive growth strategy,” Infiniti President Johan de Nysschen says in a statement. “In our quest to appeal to the modern, young-minded premium customer, the Infiniti Q30 Concept has a distinctive style and reaches new levels of product quality.”
Infiniti says it anticipates a radical shift in the premium-compact segment that will see “more adventurous design and graceful athleticism.”
The upcoming production model will be the first Infiniti engineered from the start under the influence of Sebastian Vettel, a 3-time Formula 1 world champion who is now the Nissan luxury brand’s director of performance.
