Ferrari SpA takes the wraps off its newest 2-seat performance beauty, the ’05 F430 Monza during the Paris auto show.
The F430 will replace the volume-leading 360 Modena, which replaced the F355 in 2000.
’05 Ferrari F430
The F430, designed by Carrozzeria Pininfarina SpA, features Ferrari’s 4.3L V-8, producing 490 hp and a top speed in excess of 196 mph (315 km/h). Ferrari says the F430 can accelerate from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in four seconds.
Braking is controlled by carbon-ceramic discs, while power is transmitted through an F1-derived gearbox that improves shift timing to 150-thousandths of a second.
Ferrari’s F430 Monza goes on sale in Europe at the end of this year, with production slated to reach 3,300 units annually.
