The new El Dorado Chevrolet in McKinney, TX, is designed as ecologically friendly.

The interior of the dealership is equipped with high-efficiency appliances to conserve energy on a daily basis. Water fixtures are automated to control water waste. Employees and customers are encouraged to recycle papers, plastics, aluminum and glass using the bins throughout the dealership.

Other materials recycled in the service department include oil, tires, antifreeze fluid and batteries.

The store's outside is also an exercise in efficiency. Plants are the most environmentally responsible for use in Texas landscapes and gardens. A Rainbird irrigation system is designed to conserve water.

El Dorado's Web site features environmental tips. The conservation efforts are part of a larger community awareness program that the Chevrolet-Chrysler-Jeep-Mazda dealership has initiated.
