TRAVERSE CITY, MI – Anyone interested in landing a job at the new Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance LLC factory in Dundee, MI, should be prepared for rejection.

According to Bruce Coventry, president of the unit, nearly one in 10 applicants fail the testing needed to qualify for employment at the plant.

Requirements include a 2-year college degree, as well as the ability to operate state-of-the-art machinery, including Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) equipment.
Dundee has yet to be unionized, although Coventry admits he expects the plant to eventually be represented by the United Auto Workers union once it reaches full employment. (See related story: Dundee Global Engine Plant On Track)
