Eaton Corp. introduces four new products to reduce vehicle emissions and improve fuel economy.

The company says its new electronic locker, electronic limited slip differential, cylinder deactivation system and ultralight valves were designed for use in light trucks, SUVs and specialty vehicles.

Eaton's electronic locker is a fully controllable locking differential that is compatible with electronic systems in today's vehicles. The electronic slip differential is designed to provide one-wheel traction control.

The cylinder deactivation system works by coupling and decoupling the engine valve to and from the camshaft, allowing the engine to run on fewer cylinders during light loads. Ultralight valves have a reduced weight of up to 55% from the previous version of the product. The ultralight also reduces wear, extends durability and reduces engine noise, vibration and harshness.
