Jaguar Land Rover will build a £355 million ($555.6 million) plant to manufacture all-new low-emissions engines in the U.K.

JLR, a subsidiary of India's Tata Motors, says the facility will produce a family of advanced-technology 4-cyl. gasoline and diesel engines.

Next-generation engines on tap.

It will be built in a business park near Wolverhampton, England, 130 miles (209 km) northeast of London and is expected to create up to 750 engineering and manufacturing jobs. JLR already employs more than 19,000 people in the U.K.

“As we invest £1.5 billion ($2.3 billion) a year for the next five years on new product developments, expanding our engine range will help us realize the full global potential of the Jaguar and Land Rover brands,” Jaguar Land Rover CEO Ralf Speth says.

“The all-new family of 4-cyl. engines will increase JLR's capability to offer high-performance engines with class-leading levels of refinement, while ensuring continued significant reductions in vehicle emissions.”
