Mitsubishi Motors North America Inc. plans to “reshape the image” of the cross/utility vehicle when it unveils its ’07 Outlander at the New York International Auto Show April 13.
The ’07 Outlander will be powered by an all-new 3L V-6 engine with variable valve timing the auto maker refers to as the Mitsubishi Innovative Variable timing Electronic Control system. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with 1-touch “Sportronic” manual shifting and adaptive electronic controls.
Mitsubishi says the CUV will be available with All Wheel Control, what it bills as an advanced all-wheel-drive system.
The 2-piece “flap-fold” tailgate makes for easy cargo loading, the auto maker says, and the in-floor stowable third-row seat enhances cargo capacity.
The Outlander will come standard with a Bluetooth hands-free cell phone interface and an advanced “FAST-Key” access system. Options include a 650-watt audio system, DVD entertainment system and hard-drive based navigation system.
