Pininfarina 4-Door Concept Set for Geneva Debut

TURIN – Pininfarina SpA’s Sintesi design project, set to debut at the Geneva auto show in March, is a 4-door sports car that combines the attributes of two previous concepts, the 2004 Nido and award-winning Birdcage 75.
Although the car reportedly borrows mechanicals from an unnamed Italian high-performance car, Pininfarina has no plans to associate the design study with any particular brand.

The Sintesi borrows elements of its passenger compartment from the innovative Nido concept, a futuristic commuter car designed and engineered by Lowie Vermeersch, now in charge of design at Pininfarina R&D.
However, its exterior is more Birdcage 75, an all out performance car designed for Maserati SpA and meant to look at home on the racetrack. The Birdcage 75’s entire front end, from the rear pillar forward, opened like a clamshell to provide access to the cabin.
