Sports and racing car specialist Lister reveals details of the latest preproduction updates to the most powerful vehicle made in its 65-year history.

Now dubbed the Lister LFT-666, and possibly to become known as the “Beast” after the Book of Revelations, the all-British sports car is based on the Jaguar F-Type and claims a power output of 666 hp from its 5.0L V-8 engine.

First revealed in early 2018 as the Lister Thunder, modifications have been made at the company’s Cambridgeshire factory including new Lister-designed carbon-fiber body panels such as front bumper, front splitter, rear diffuser, rear lip spoiler, rear extended wheel arches, a new grille design and new lightweight alloy wheels.

By replacing many of the standard F-Type’s parts, Lister claims to have created a lighter and stronger car that offers improved aerodynamics on both road and track, resulting in improved overall performance. Lister has also reworked the suspension and some interior parts, including the steering wheel and seat design.

The first of the planned 99-car production run will be ready for customer delivery Oct. 1. Lister also will offer wheel and body enhancements for standard Jaguar F-Type models worldwide, with kits starting from £9,750 ($12,804) for the Lister badge, bumper and wheel upgrade. Non-tuned cars with the Lister body enhancements will be known simply as the Lister LFT, with no horsepower denotation.

“The future of Lister is extremely exciting,” CEO Lawrence Whittaker says in a news release. “We are investing £10 million ($13.1 million) into the Lister Motor Company over the next two years, including a new dedicated 25,000-sq.-ft. (2,325-sq.-m) Lister head office and showroom in Lancashire, creating over 50 new jobs in the local area.

“We also have more new models to follow soon, including exciting news on our attempt at creating the world’s fastest SUV, which I can announce will be named the Lister LFP.”
