Potamkin Chrysler Jeep in Miami hosted a special vehicle delivery event honoring Briana Castillo, a youngster who fought off a carjacker.
When Atheysha Diaz buckled her two children, 6-year-old Briana and 2-year-old Jose, into the back seat of her vehicle, little did she know that she would soon be fighting off a carjacker lurking outside her older model Toyota.
Despite Diaz' efforts, the carjacker drove off with the children inside. Briana began hitting the criminal on the head with her school library book, causing him to stop and let the children out before driving off.
To replace the stolen vehicle, the Chrysler Group gave the family a '07 Chrysler Sebring at the dealership.
“We are proud of Briana's quick thinking and courageous actions to save her own life and the life of her brother,“ says Erwin Raphael, a Chrysler regional director-retail sales and marketing.
“It's good to know there are companies out there who care about crime victims like me and especially the well-being my children,“ says Diaz.
The culprit was caught later — driving another stolen car.
