Kia K5 Heads for Malaysia
Malaysia’s Naza Kia adds the K5 to its lineup later this year. The distributor has sold 10,228 Kias so far in 2011.
Naza Kia Malaysia will begin marketing the Kia K5 midsize sedan in Malaysia Dec. 27, Kia confirms.
It will be the third Kia vehicle introduced in Malaysia this year, following sales launches of the Forte 6-speed and Forte Koup early in the year and the all-new Sportage in June.
Through November, Naza sold 10,228 Kias, up 11% from year-ago, outpacing the gain for the market overall.
“With the new K5 we will be able to take the Kia Motors brand to new heights in 2012,” Naza Chief Operating Officer Datuk Bakar says in a statement. “The new K5 has won many awards internationally and we are confident it will be a hit in Malaysia as well.
“We have strengthened our model lineup, embarked on new marketing initiatives and rationalized our network to 60 outlets.”
Naza Kia Malaysia also sells Peugeot, Ferrari and Maserati vehicles. Some of the Kia and Peugeot models are rebadged with the Naza brand.
Naza Kia is one of the companies of the Malaysian conglomerate, Naza Group.
