Lamborghini takes the wraps off the new Huracan, the successor to the iconic Gallardo super sports car.

The Huracan will be powered by a 5.2L V-10 engine producing 610 hp and 413 lb.-ft. (560 Nm) of torque, allowing it to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds and boast a top speed of 201 mph (325 km/h). Stop/start technology enables the Huracan to comply with European Union emissions regulations.

A 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is standard, as is an electronically controlled 4-wheel-drive system that can be programmed for different driving modes.

The Huracan has sharp exterior  lines with sculpted surfaces, which culminate in a profile the automaker says is defined by only one line that merges the front with the cockpit and the rear of the car.

The interior features a 12.3-in. (307.5-mm) full-color thin-film transistor instrument panel that displays all driver information, including the rev counter, navigation maps and infotainment functions. Nappa leather and Alcantara surfaces are available in several color combinations for consumers looking to customize their vehicle.

The super car rides on a chassis composed of carbon fiber and aluminum weighing only 3,134 lbs. (1,422 kg), while providing enhanced stiffness for aggressive cornering.

Like the Gallardo, the most successful Lamborghini ever with 14,022 cars produced over the past 10 years, the Huracan will be built in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, on a newly installed production line. Deliveries are to commence in spring 2014.
