Maserati Introduces New GranTurismo Coupé

Maserati introduces the new GranTurismo coupé with two internal-combustion engines and the Italian luxury performance brand’s first battery-electric powertrain.

The GranTurismo offers two ICE-powered models equipped with the V-6 Nettuno engine: the 3.0L, 490-hp twin-turbo Modena and the high-performance Trofeo based on the same engine but upgraded to 550 hp.

The GranTurismo Folgore EV, meanwhile, relies on 800V technology and has been developed with technical solutions derived from Formula E racing. The system uses three 300-kW permanent-magnet motors and a battery with a nominal capacity of 92.5 kWh and a discharge capacity of 560 kW to continuously transmit about 760 hp to the wheels. 

The new model makes extensive use of lightweight materials such as aluminum and magnesium, together with high-performance steel. It also comes with advanced Level 5 cybersecurity and flash-over-the-air features. The Vehicle Domain Control Module master controller consists of the software that provides 360° control of all the most important car systems.

The classic proportions of Maserati cars have been maintained, with the long hood and the central body intersected by the four fenders. The roofline drops to emphasize the curve of the pillar that features the brand’s Trident logo.

The Maserati GranTurismo’s cabin is equipped with the Maserati Intelligent Assistant multimedia system, the latest infotainment technology, a comfort display that brings together the main functions in an integrated touchscreen interface, a digital clock, and available heads-up display.

The GranTurismo also offers an “all-around sound experience” provided by the signature sound of the Maserati engine, even in the electric version. The sound experience is augmented by the immersive Sonus faber audio system offering two levels of customization: standard, with 14 speakers and 860-watt output, and 3-D sound with 19 speakers and output of 1,195 watts.

The GranTurismo was developed at the Maserati Innovation Lab and is produced at the automaker’s Mirafiori manufacturing hub in Turin, Italy.

At launch, the GranTurismo is available in the PrimaSerie 75^th Anniversary Launch Edition, a limited series featuring exclusive content and dedicated to the model’s recent 75^th anniversary.
