Mark C. McNabb, former president and CEO of Maserati North America, will fill a vacancy at Volkswagen of America, taking over as head of sales, aftersales and customer experience for the VW brand.

McNabb, whose departure from Maserati was disclosed yesterday, replaces Tim Mahoney, who left VW for General Motors in February. Mahoney heads up global marketing for GM.

“As our brand grows and we continue to invest in new products and production capacity here in the U.S. and North America, it is important that we also keep adding to the talent pool available to our Group,” says VWA President and CEO Jonathan Browning.

“Mark brings a wealth of automotive and leadership experience, has managed both large and small organizations and will contribute to the strategic and operational oversight of our business.”

Prior to his 4-year stint atop Maserati North America, industry veteran McNabb held sales and marketing positions at Nissan in the U.S., as well as Mercedes-Benz and GM.

Maserati announced yesterday McNabb would be replaced by Robert Graczyk, former director-sales for Chrysler’s Asia-Pacific region.

McNabb is the second high-profile executive to leave Fiat-Chrysler this month. Earlier, Ram Div. head Fred Diaz defected for a position as head of sales and marketing for Nissan in the U.S.
