Mazda Taps Davis to Head New U.S. Operations Group

The new organization was formed to “fully realize Mazda’s U.S. growth potential in the next few years,” the auto maker says.

Mazda North American Operations appoints Robert Davis as senior vice president of the newly created U.S. Operations Group.

Davis, currently senior vice president-marketing and product development, assumes his new position May 1. He will oversee all U.S. sales operations and training, marketing, customer service and parts, owner loyalty, dealer development, public relations and dealer affairs.

Reporting to Davis will be Toru Nakajima, currently general manager-global product marketing for parent company Mazda. Nakajima will assume the position of vice president/chief of staff for the U.S. Operations Group.

In his new role, Nakajima be responsible for U.S. vehicle logistics, fleet, remarketing, incentives and sales planning.

Jim O’Sullivan, CEO of MNAO, says in a statement the new group was formed to “fully realize Mazda’s U.S. growth potential in the next few years.”

Nakajima will report directly to Davis, who in turn will report to O’Sullivan.
